GRAHAM DAVIS - JAMAICA SERIES

Graham Davis celebrates thirty five years in Jamaica with
his first ever all-Jamaican exhibition of paintings, on
Sunday April 10, 2005.

A special reception will be held at the home of Ambassador Peter King, 11A Waterloo Road, Kingston, beginning at 11:00 AM.

For Graham Davis, better known as a painter of international flavour, this tribute to his adopted island has been a labour of love. Several years in the making, the exhibition captures subjects from all areas of Jamaican life: houses in Trelawny, boats in Port Royal and old railway stations are but a few of his reflections on a Jamaican journey.

Davis was born in Kent and educated at Maidstone and Chelsea Schools of Art. During the thirty five years since he settled in Jamaica, he has exhibited widely in the Caribbean, North America and Europe. His most recent success was at the highly acclaimed Rebecca Hossack Gallery in London.

Part proceeds from the sale of Davis' painting "St Mark's Church, Rio Bueno", will be donated to the church (which was recently damaged by fire) restoration fund.

The exhibition continues by appointment until Friday, April 15.
